“Musashi”  – Tachi with Steel blade

Our standard blades are made of high quality T10 steel and polished to near mirror shine. While this is the best equivalent to the blades used on screen for close up shots of the original props, many people prefer the look of pattern folded steel blades. The layering of different grades of steel produces a striped or water rippled grain pattern that is visible on the blade.

A dress scabbard is available for this item:

Duncan’s Silver Tachi Saya
A rosewood toned, hardwood scabbard with silver-gray cord work, and a full set of silver dress fittings. As seen in the episode “The Gathering” (S1E1)

Description

A hand crafted tachi style sword, with a longer blade and deeper curve,  made with a cast resin handle and high quality steel blade. Features the Musashi Edition of the original “Dragonhead Sword” handle used by Duncan MacLeod. The Musashi is a recarved version the original prop used on the show and was created by the same artist as the original (Sal D’Aquila) to have cleaner details and a better feel in the hands. The handle is cast in high strength resin and antiqued to match its appearance in key scenes from the show.
